Friendship peak is situated in the Pir Panjal range at an altitude of 5,289 metres in the Himalayan region. This is a difficult trek. This is one of the most famous treks in the Himalayan region. This peak is in the Beas Kund region. Here you can explore glaciers, lush greenery, trails full of rocks and boulders and a beautiful view of some snowy peaks. This total journey begins from Manali. You need to cover a total of 24 kilometres.
The best route for this expedition is Dhundi and Beas Kund. You don’t need any technical trekking skills but you need physical and mental fitness. Trekkers should have a prior high-altitude trekking experience for this trek. The trekking route is fairly steep. One can also train themself before doing this trek. A 3 kilometres run every day will be very helpful for trekking in this region. One can also do some warm-up, stretching exercises etc. Some highlights of this trek are the ancient Hadimba temple and the 5,289 mt trekking, The Solang valley. On the trekking trail, you can also spot some amazing colourful wildflowers, flora and fauna. The small spontaneous streams will blow your mind.

Friendship Peak is popular for High altitude, glaciers, and camping.
One can do this trek from June( middle) to October(middle). In the month June to July, the temperature during the time of evening and the night can drop from -2 degrees to 5 degrees celsius. In the afternoon it hovers around 13 to 20 degrees celsius.
From September to October the temperature during the time of evening and night, can drop from -5 degrees to 4 degrees celsius. During the afternoon the temperature hovers around 12 to 19 degrees celsius.
This region experiences heavy rainfall so it is recommended that you don’t plan this trek in July. This region also experiences landslides in the monsoon season. Plan this trek in the post-monsoon season.
Today you need to arrive at Manali. You can reach here by air. The nearest airport is Bhuntar airport. This airport is situated on National Highway 3. Manali is also well connected with major cities in India. From Delhi, one can take the NH 22. The distance between Delhi to Manali is 570 kilometres. Many buses like deluxe, and semi-deluxe are available on this route. So one can easily book the tickets for the buses and arrive at Manali. There is no direct railway in Manali. From Jogindar Nagar railway station you can take a cab. The distance between the Jogindar Nagar railway to Manali is 175 kilometres.
If you love trekking then you can also do the Kedarkantha trek.
On this day you need to drive from Manali to Dhundi. The trekking route goes through the beautiful Deodar forest and some small bushes. Trekkers need to head towards the “Lady Leg” base camp. From the base, you can explore Deo Tibba, Hanuman Tibbaa, Seven sisters, other Pir Panjal ranges and Shetidhar. Stay at the camp of the amazing Lady Leg.
You can also start this trek From Solang. If you do so then you have to stay at Bakarthach. Bakathach is situated at 3050 metres.
After having your breakfast in the morning you need to trek towards the Advanced Basecamp. From here you can explore open crevasses and glaciers. Advanced Base camp is situated at 4815 metres.
If you want to see the beautiful sunrise from the col of the mountain then this day you need to get up early in the morning. The Friendship peak summit is a long day trek. 7 to 8 hours of trekking will take you to the friendship peak. After reaching your destination, enjoy your victory. Take some photos and then get down before the afternoon. This trek is popular for high-altitude trekking, glaciers and camping.
After doing the summit you need to come back to the advanced base camp.
Start trekking downhill after enjoying the beauty of Friendship peak. Trek down to reach Dhundi. After that, you need to go back to Manali.
One can also get down to reach Bakarthach. From here you need to drive back to Manali.
